This fermentation process, and our use of high-hydration doughs, yields a chewy texture, thin, crisp crust, and amazing aromas, with an added benefit of partially breaking down gluten. Natural sourdoughs rely on a slow fermentation process that allows the bread to develop in ways you can't find with store-bought or mass-produced bread. Our sandwiches and salads are crafted to highlight our breads, baked fresh each morning. We have worked hard to source locally and use organic ingredients wherever possible. Our menu changes regularly, in order to reflect the season at-hand. ![]() A range of cakes and cookies complements these flaky pastry. These layers of dough create all of the wonderfully caramelized and flaky pastry you'll experience at Liv Breads, including not only croissant, but babka, rugelach, bourekas, turnovers and fruit-filled Danish. These 'laminated doughs' are our specialty here, produced in our special cold room in the back of our facility. Our pastry program includes a wide range of croissant, puff and Danish doughs. Pop into our bakery and you'll see our bread bakers at work scaling ingredients, mixing and shaping loaves, and baking off breads. Our bread and pastry are made from scratch, right here in downtown Millburn. We bring a little bit of European café culture where boulangeries dot the neighborhoods, to the suburbs of New Jersey. We are a local, family-owned bakery grown out of a love of good food and quality service.
